This is a weekend about teaching Lindy Hop.

Scott Cupit has been introduced as the guy that has introduced swing dancing to more people in the modern era than anyone else. We don’t know if this is true but we do know he always has large classes and runs successful swing scenes. Here is a great opportunity to spend a weekend on “ teaching “ with guest teacher Scott who will be facilitating the weekend.

What is it?
A day dedicated to teaching Lindy Hop. Great teaching is the key to spreading the dance we all love so much. This weekend will cover the essential ingredients to great teaching and look at how to build a strong venue.

Who is it for?
Current teachers and those considering teaching. The weekend is invite only..
but all are invited.

What is Swing? - Lindy Hop

Lindy Hop, known as Jitterbug in the UK, is a street dance that evolved in Harlem, New York in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

Lindy Hop has a fun and wild energy and includes aerials, flips, lifts and tricks for the more aventurous!

For an example of turbo-charged dancing by the best in the world, have a look at this for loads of furious dancing and flips and this for some of the best freestyle!!

Our Beginner classes will teach you the basics.

Solo Charleston Classes - January Only

Solo Charleston - a whole lotta fun without a partner!

Flapper girls danced the Charleston solo-style back in the 1920s, and in this class we show you how to do this great step. Then we use this as the basis for loads of other vernacular jazz steps. By the end of the class you'll have a wee repertoire of solo steps you can bust out on the floor to impress your friends with your fancy, fast footwork.

Not just for the gals, the guys will look cool too. Check out the pros in America to see what it's all about here

Rather than focusing on a piece of choreography,. we specialise in teaching you the tools to dance. Imagine your first dance being as relaxed and enjoyable as a warm embrace, dancing to special music in front of your family and friends.

By teaching you how to move your body, connect with your partner and dance with your music, you'll be free to focus on the moment and have the skills to continue to dance all evening.

Finally, having gone through the experience of organising a wedding for ourselves, we don't believe in charging the "wedding tax". Our wedding dance lessons cost the same as our regular private lessons.

Couple Private Lesson: £60 per hour, this includes two instructors to show you lead and follow of the dance.

The Caledonian Swing Cats are Zoot Swing's premier troupe who are guaranteed to add some spice, sparkle and rhythm to your next event, party or any occasion at all. We aim to dazzle with fast paced Charleston and air steps to upbeat jazz tunes.

However, we can not only entertain your guests but also teach them what they need to know to get up onto the dance floor and do some swing dancing themselves. Short swing dance lessons are a great ice-breaker and certainly a talking point for your guests. Party swing dance lessons are easy and fun and anyone can get up and have a go from young to old.
