6-Beat Swing evolved from Lindy Hop, in the 50s, as Boogie Woogie and Rock'n'Roll music gained popularity. 6-beat is very similar to Glasgow Jive and Ballroom Jive. However, whilst also 6-beat it has very different feel and look to West Coast Swing.
