Lindy Hop Charleston, commonly referred to as 30s Charleston was adapated from the well known 20s Charleston.
Whilst 20's Charleston became associated with well-to-do flappers of the prohibition era, 30s Charleston became known by swinging its rhythm and was associated with the ballrooms of Harlem.
Baboa, also known as Bal-swing, is a form of swing dance that gained in popularity in the 1930s and 1940s. It is danced primarily in close embrace, and is led with a full body connection. Balboa is considered more of a "dancer's dance" than a "spectator's dance".
Balboa is danced to a wide variety of tempos. And because the basic step takes up such a small space, Balboa can be very easily danced to fast music and with much less space than other partner dances.
