We've just had confirmation that the times we are going to be
performing and running our swing lesson is at 2:30-3:30pm.
Come and join us to get the crowd excited about swing dancing - we'd
love you to come and dance in front of the stage and help the crowd get

dancing and lindy hop is all about. Let's get this town all

Hello
Swing and Blues dancers,
Newsflash!
Ben
and Helen will be teaching and performing as part of the Glasgow
Winterfest, THIS SUNDAY 22nd, on the Main Stage.
We
expect to be on from 3 to 4pm and we'd love your support.
Come and enjoy the day or help us to hand out flyers.
If you have any friends or family members who've not yet
tried Lindy Hop, this is a great way to introduce them to dance in a
large social environment. Send us a message with your mobile
if you can make it - we'll let you know of any changes to the schedule,
or alternativly check www.zootswing.co.uk - we'll post the details soon.
The
Sunday Stroll's afternoon saw 40 people come and learn some new jazz
steps, some of them dancing for the very first time! It was
lovely to see students coming across from our new Glasgow classes and
we even had a participant come all the way from Newcastle.
Thanks
to all the Zoot Swing teachers who did a fantastic job, we'll be
playing all of the stroll's music in the coming weeks at social dancing
on Tuesdays.
We're
looking for a new venue for Glasgow - something near an underground
station and in a lively area. If you think you know of a
venue or would like us to look around your area, give us a shout!
Also, we're looking for people to help hand out flyers and
really build the scene for next year...
Speaking of scene building, check
out the gigs coming soon. Many of them attract Lindy Hoppers
and Blues dancers from every group in Edinburgh and Glasgow...

Hello
Swing dancers,
The
new beginners' block starts from week one in Glasgow tonight and in
Edinburgh on the 17th. If you started part-way through the
block then come and fill in the gaps by coming to the week one and two
side-by-side Chareleston classes.
If you've been through the whole
block - congratulations, you're ready to step up to the improver level
class. For the moment, we are still only running beginners
classes in Glasgow, but improvers classes will be starting in Glasgow
in the new year. You can still come for social dancing, or
practice your moves at the social dances we'll advertise around
Glasgow, or you can repeat the block and give yourself a solid
foundation of the basics. Whatever you choose, don't stop
dancing!
See you on
the dance floor...

Are You Dancing - dancing resource
1.
Hello From Ben at Lindy Shock in Hungary
Hello Everyone,
To my friends and
students in Glasgow and Edinburgh, wish you were here!
From Wednesday afternoon
I've been at an amazing dance camp in Hungary, called Lindy Shock.
There are so many wonderful dancers from around the world and
fantastic teachers, passionate about dancing.
The main dances and
classes are on a boat! Last night, to the tunes of a live
band, we sailed the river between Buda and Pest. I'm also
having a great time catching up with friends - who I only meet at camps
- and learning new ideas. Some day, I hope you can also make
it out of the UK to visit a European event too.
On my return, I'm
looking forward to sharing the new ideas with everyone. See
you in Glasgow this Tuesday.
Love and Hugs
-Ben
