Greetings from the pool-side in San Diego, Soaking up the rays for a few days following the San Diego Fusion Exchange and certainly not missing all that snow. Ben and I have had a brilliant time learning loads of new stuff and creating fabulous dances. Unexpectedly, we met up with quite a number of old friends here, people who have passed through the Edinburgh dance scene, including our fantastic former blues teacher, Erika Schmidt, who was an integral driving force in beginning Zoot Swing's blues dance adventures.Ben and I have loads to bring back to you guys, so check out the special Inspirations from SDFX classes below. I look forward to seeing you all back in Edinburgh at Swing in the New year this Saturday night. Old St. Paul's will come alive as the best swingin' venue around with live two piece Mike Parker and Stretch Dawrson. See you there, Helen Index 1. Old St. Paul's Hall 63 Jeffrey Street Edinburgh EH1 1DH £5 on the door 2. Inspiration from SDFX special classes These special classes will run in the hour following the blues class on Thursday nights in Edinburgh and will cover all the ideas and inspirational wonders Ben and Helen gained from the San Diego Fusion Exchange. Fusion is not just dance, its creative flow in motion. Check out the website for more details www.sandiegofusionexchange.com Thursday blues nights will run as follows: NOTE blues night will commence on Thursday 21st January, not this week! 7:00pm - Blues class (for those with blues dance experience) 8:00pm - Inspiration from SDFX class 9:00pm - Social dancing Sorry to those in Glasgow who can't make it across for the classes, but we'll endeavour to organise classes to present the material in Glasgow in the coming months. 3. New class price update for second class discount and class passes There have been some questions regarding second classes for those who have discount cards. If you do two classes in one night the second class is £3 (for both full and concession). However, if you have a discount card it is economically sound for you to use it for the first class of the night only, to save you the full amount for the class. If you want to do a second class, please pay us the cash for the second class. 4. Scotland Swing Storm - March 12-14 Now with THREE dances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Two levels of classes: Improvers/Intermediate and Intermediate Plus/Advanced Saturday night includes Scottish Swing Dance Championships, two dance floors and teacher demos. £70 early-bird for the whole weekend package (workshops and dances) registered and paid by 21st February 2010. £80 full weekend from 22nd March 2010.
