Hi Lindy Hoppers, The first monthly Blue Sunday saw an excellent group of enthusiastic blues-ers. It was a really lovely start to our new blues venture and I enjoyed playing some of my new music (Helen). The next one will be 4th April @ The City Cafe from 7pm. And finally, a big hello to our new swing dancers on our e-mail newsletter who are in Livingston. This Wednesday will be our 3rd week in Livingston already! Index 1. Scotland Swing Storm - March 12-14 If you want to come to the fabulous workshops, you haven't missed out yet, single leads still welcome to book or lead/follow couples in the upper level can still get in. £80 for the full weekend - 3 social dances and 10+ hours of workshops. Social passes are also still available for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights at the discount price of £15. Or, you can turn up and pay on the door. Friday £5, Saturday, £10, Sunday £5. Scottish Swing Dance Championships - March 13 The entry criteria for the Up and Comers has now changed to allow a wider range of entrants. So if you've never competed before (not including our practice J&J at the New Year Party), and if you've never taught dance before, you can now enter the Up and Comers competition. This will be great fun, an opportunity to get some performance experience and all to a really supportive crowd of dancers you know. Registrations are now open, check out www.scotlandswingstorm.com to put your name down. We have beautiful shiny trophies to be won and the major prize for the Open Lindy Hop competition is a double pass to the London Swing Festival, sponsored by Swing Patrol London. Jump in there and give it a go... 3. Granite City Blues The first Granite City Blues night in Aberdeen will be on March 14. General level blues lesson at 7pm then social blues dancing till late. £5 for the night. Bluez Cruize - July 16-18 Join us for our bluesy, cruisey weekend long blues dancing party. We're going to dance Friday, Saturday and Sunday with dance boat cruise, social activities, live music and tourist stuff for those from out of town.
